Something they *knew* (as I found out later on their discussion board) would kill an AppleTV with 2.3 on it but was there as an option anyway. Oh and did I mention that I had to format my AppleTV as a result of the "software menu" installed with the last version? I was trying to deal with the problem of it not working reliably and I installed something I shouldn't have. The last time, it wouldn't load and it wouldn't exit so I had to unplug my AppleTV to get it working again. More often than not, like at least 3/4 of the time, it won't load. I've been very disappointed lately with boxee though. Welcome to the SageTV for Boxee development group. Still need an invite? PM me and I'll send you one. down from the swanky UI originally previewed in Boxee Box betas and there is already a 15 page petition on the companys forums to change it back.

I was wondering if anyone who has signed up to Boxee would be kind enough to send me an invite? Switch on thé Boxee Box (á slightly overblown éxperience lasting about 30 seconds and full of needless animations).
#BOXEE FORUMS TV#
Perhaps most importantly though is that Boxee lets me (as a Canadian) easily watch the Comedy Channel and other streaming TV shows without having to resort to clumsy workarounds to get past their US-only viewing policy. Boxee also features Twitter and Last.fm integration, which is nice also. Since its not in the default profile list, can anyone suggest which profile to use For the time being Im using DSM-320, but I want to ensure Im not being inhibited in any way. They're all remarkably stable though (Boxee, XBMC, and Plex all use the same codebase maintained and worked on by the XBMC team), and Boxee and XBMC both still work on 10.4, which is a plus. I just picked up a D-Link Boxee Box (DSM-380). The best I can do, from what I've tried, is to set my iTunes music folder as my media library folder - for some odd reason though it only picks up a few of my non-protected AAC and MP3 albums, and only some of them have their album art picked up. I also would like to see better integration with iTunes - like an option to import my library.

Otherwise it leads to the kind of thing I remember Brad ranting about in Windows apps where a preferences dialog could have tons and tons of tabs with countlessly packed radio buttons and options.

I really wish there was a way to switch from a simplified default set of preferences and settings to a more advanced mode. Furthermore, you can find the Troubleshooting Login Issues section which can answer your unresolved problems and equip you with a lot of relevant information.

LoginAsk is here to help you access Boxee Login quickly and handle each specific case you encounter. There's also no active help system or tooltip system to explain what some of the more arcane functions do. Boxee Login will sometimes glitch and take you a long time to try different solutions. They’ll rely on you for nearly everything food, water, shelter, protection, training, exercise, grooming, veterinary care, and of course love and companionship. However, he or she will demand a lot from you. To change settings I have to drill deep down through several levels of menus, and if I need to move back up in the menu hierarchy I sometimes I have to press ESC and navigate back from the start (I assume that's a bug, though). We at AABR, believe that a Boxer is just about the perfect friend. In general, my problem is that I find the UI way, way too clunky.
#BOXEE FORUMS CODE#
I've got a parallel post on the boxee forum but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has any ideas or similar experiences.I've been trying out both XBMC, Boxee, and Plex, a fork of the Mac XBMC code which happened due to a tiff between the original team porting XBMC to the Mac and the rest of the XBMC developers.

Rather than trying to serve video over that I dusted off an old router and created a second wired LAN that connects my unraid to my pc and media centre.Īs I mentioned above, every other computer I've linked to the network has had no trouble finding the unraid shares but the auto-detect feature in boxee and manually entering the unraid's ip address have yielded no results on the boxee. I, along with the other tenants in my building, join the internet through a wireless router that I do not have physical access to. I have a bit of a crazy network setup so let me outline that. I recently decided to move to the Boxee box after a less tech savvy person joined me here but the Boxee does not seem to be able to discover the unraid shares.

It's connected to a Windows PC and, until recently, and XBMC box. I've had an Unraid purring contentedly in my closet for the last year or so.
